Thursday afternoon firemen from the Imboden Volunteer Fire Department visited the Imboden Area Charter School for National Fire Prevention Week. Students started off with a Fire Drill complete with Fire Engines followed by lessons on Smoke Detectors and learning about evacuating their homes in case of a fire.
Students took part in an hour long program put on by Lt. Gene Ponder and Lt. Buddy Williams of the IVFD. With over 60 students in attendance, the firemen listened to questions from the students and gave several demonstrations with the fire trucks.
Once the program concluded students were given coloring books, bracelets, pencils and stickers provided by the Arkansas Forrestry Commission’s Imboden Office.
