A Lynn man was arrested by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office on Jully 22nd for Theft of Services.
Ruel Eugene Jackson of Lynn was arrested after the Lynn Water Department reported that Jackson’s water had been shut off in May and he had bypassed the meter therefore stealing water.
The water department became aware of the theft after local residents reported a large amount of water running out of Jackson’s water meter box into a ditch and then a storm drain.
Lynn’s Water Department estimated a loss of 80,000 gallons during the time Jackson had illegally hooked up the water.
Deputies spoke with Jackson and he admitted to hooking up the water, he was then arrested and transported to the the Lawrence County Jail where he was released on an O.R. Bond and a Circuit Court date of August 25th was set at a hearing on Friday.
