Captain Jody Dotson of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office confirms that a black Rock man was arrested for forgery and theft of property.
The Sheriff’s Office says the arrest came after a resident of Black Rock reported that he had some checks missing and that one of the checks had been cashed at a bank in Walnut Ridge.
Lawrence County deputies took a report and followed up with the bank in Walnut Ridge. The Prosecutor then issued a subpoena for video surveillance from the bank for the day in which the check was cashed. At that time deputies recognized the suspect to be Jimmy Bagwell of Black Rock on tape cashing the check.
The owner of the check reported to deputies that Bagwell had been at his residence earlier.
Bagwell was placed under arrest and transported to the Lawrence County Jail to await a bond hearing.
*Bond was set for Jimmy Bagwell at $5,000 and a Circuit Court date of Aug 25.
