A little known change to cigarettes has come about with little or no publicity. Cigarette manufactures have made a change to their products which make them extinguish more quickly than standard cigarettes if ignored. The Fire Safe Cigarette or FSC will simply extinguish itself if left unattended.
Cigarette giants like Phillip Morris and R.J. Reynolds both support the law which has been adopted by all 50 states. Consumers have complained of a noticeable difference in taste and their also has been an increase in people who roll their own cigarettes which by the way is not effected by the law.
While most people believe this is to reduce the number of accidental fires started by unattended cigarettes their is another aspect to it. Arsonist have used cigarettes for a long time as a type of fuse for their devices. This will no longer be a problem with the new cigarettes.
