In the late hours of the 24th or early hours of the 25th our city park was once again damaged by vandals. Today city workers were removing damaged sprinkler lines and sprinkler heads.
The damage was to the area that is maintained by Master Gardeners Club of Imboden.
Imboden Water Superintendent Terry Smith has discussed this problem with other Local Law Enforcement and some Members of the Imboden Volunteer Fire Department in an effort to stop these types of vandalism. Those participating are actively watching the park as well as logging vehicle tags of vehicles in the park late at night. Those are being turned over to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and the Arkansas State Police.
Just last night several vehicles were logged in the park after midnight and turned over to Cpl. Creston Hutton of the Arkansas State Police for investigation into last nights damage.
Supt. Terry Smith has stated that at the next City Council meeting he intends to discuss a curfew to be placed on the park to help in stopping this. Also the vehicles in question from last night are also suspected as being the same vehicle or vehicles that are leaving the “black marks” all along 4th street and around the Sloan Hendrix Campus.
