Shortly after 4 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 2010 the Lawrence County Dispatch Center received a call that several buildings on Main Street in Downtown Black Rock had collapsed.
Black Rock Fire Department and Lawrence County Deputies arrived to find several buildings down. Deputy Allen with the LCSO said that no one was injured but the property owner kept several dogs in a pen next to the buildings, several were killed by the falling debris.
The Black Rock Fire Department was on the scene of another call on Hwy 361 at the time of the collapse. Several witnesses on the scene stated the building just fell with no warning. Deputies were still on the scene at the time of this article waiting for the Utility Company to repond.
