Really what offset this game was the on-side kick in the second half that caught the Colts off guard. The Saints never lost that momentum and carried it into the second half to score 25 points in the second half alone.
Drew Brees was the Super Bowl MVP and the kicker for the Saints broke a record for field goals longer than 40 yards with 3 in the first half alone.
Hotel rooms in the French Quarter were booked weeks in advance, and although it’s 9 days till Mardi Gras the French Quarter and Bourbon Street filled after the game with tens of thousands in the streets.
