Arkansas State Police has released the identity of the victim who was killed in a truck versus train crash in Brookland on Friday.
Arkansas State Police fatal crash report states that Larry Ishmael Cox, age 34 of Bay Arkansas was killed in a crash that occurred around 1:20 p.m., Friday, July 19th at the railroad crossing on County Road 928 near Highway 49.
According to the ASP fatal crash report, Cox was driving in a 2002 Chevrolet that stopped at the crossing, but states Cox drove around the crossing arms and was struck by the train.
The report stated the crossing arms were down, lights were flashing, and the bells were ringing at the time of the accident indicating a train was coming.
Authorities were on scene until after 4pm clearing up the accident.
