The Pocahontas Police Department is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. As part of our ongoing efforts to uphold public safety and enforce legal compliance, we conducted Sex Offender Compliance Checks on June 10, 2024.
During these checks, officers with the Drug Task Force and Pocahontas Police performed a total of 25 compliance checks on registered sex offenders residing within our city. We are pleased to report that the vast majority of these individuals were found to be in compliance with the conditions of their release or probation.
However, it is with concern that we have to address the fact that a few individuals were found to be out of compliance. In response to these violations, warrants will be issued for those found to be non-compliant, and appropriate legal actions will be taken to address these matters.
We want to assure the public that compliance checks need to be conducted regularly as part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and secure community. Our top priority is the safety of our residents, our children, and especially the most vulnerable among us.
We encourage all community members to remain vigilant this summer and report any suspicious activity to the authorities. Together, we can work to ensure a safer community for everyone.
