Melba Sutton Crawford of Pocahontas, Arkansas passed away on March 14, 2024, at home surrounded by her loved ones. Melba Sutton was born on April 28, 1938, in Pocahontas, Arkansas to Vaston M. Sutton and Ruby McCluskey Sutton.

Melba was a member of Sutton Free Will Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Randolph County. She married the love of her life, Earl Crawford in 1956. Melba worked for 40 years at Brown Shoe Company until they closed.

Melba is preceded in death by her husband Earl Crawford; parents Vaston M. Sutton and Ruby McCluskey Sutton; sister Ical Sutton; three brothers Charles Sutton, Vaston G. Sutton, and John Sutton.

Melba is survived by her three daughters Linda (Wayne) Pyles of Pocahontas, Shenna (Dave) Wilson of Pocahontas, and Cathy (Warren) Cox of Jonesboro; grandchildren Heather (David) Akins of Pocahontas, Jamie (Natalie) Wilson of Walnut Ridge, Coty (Ashley) Cox of Jonesboro, and Adam (Angela) Wilson of Pocahontas; seven great-grandchildren; special sister in law Ann Sutton; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and a very special Pastor and Church Family.

All services will be held at Sutton Free Will Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm with the funeral service to immediately follow at noon with Kevin Barnett officiating. Melba will be laid to rest at Sutton Cemetery.
