On September 16,2023 at approximately 11:10 pm a Clay County deputy made a traffic stop on a pickup truck pulling a trailer with no lights or license plates on the trailer. The stop was made at Casey’s in Corning. While the deputy was dealing with one of the individuals a passenger in the vehicle tried to hide and destroy a small baggy that later tested positive as methamphetamine. A search was conducted of the individuals and vehicle. Where illegal items were found. Arrested and transported to the Clay County Detention Center were 45-year-old Kelly A Clossen of Corning was booked in for Possession of Controlled Substance Methamphetamine, Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Felony Tampering with physical evidence. The Second subject 58-year-old Gordon K Crosland of Walnut Ridge was booked in for Possession of Controlled Substance Methamphetamine, Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Corning PD assisted with traffic stop.
