A Level 2 Registered Sex Offender was charged last week in Independence County with 26 counts of distributing, possessing, viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child according to court records.
Jeremie Lee Candler, age 40, a Level 2 registered sex offender recently released from supervised probation in 2020 for a felony charge similar to current charges.
A search warrant was executed on Candler’s residence in Batesville, authorities seized a cell phone and Android tablet which contained 177 images of child exploitative material. Images were discovered via the devices and a Google account connected to the suspect.
Court records show Candler admitted to being addicted to child pornography.
Candler was arrested and is currently in the Independence County Jail with bail set at $100,000.
