The Lawrence County Dispatch was able to assist deputies and Arkansas State Police with tracking a vehicle with a runaway juvenile behind the wheel. Dispatchers were not only able to give officers current location but direction of travel and current speeds of the vehicle. The 14 year old reportedly having suicidal thoughts was said to have been in Randolph and Clay Counties throughout the early morning before making it’s way to Lawrence County.
The vehicle, a 2019 Acura was tracked to the Ravenden area on Lawrence 107. Arkansas State Police and Lawrence County Deputies began to converge on the area as it moved via backroads to the Annieville area where it turned south on Hwy 115 toward Smithville before turning on Lawrence 224 and traveled to Lawrence 219 where it was intercepted by Arkansas State Police and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies at 7:32am.
The juvenile (name not released due to age) was taken into custody without incident by authorities.
Dail’s Wrecker Service of Ravenden was requested to remove the vehicle. No injuries were reported in the incident.
