According to reports, Arkansas State Parks Chief Ranger Jerry Digman was shot and killed around 11:30 am on Sunday at a residence in the 23900 block of Hwy 300 in Pulaski County. Pulaski County Sheriff’s Deputies along with investigators from the Arkansas State Police were still on scene conducting the investigation Sunday afternoon and details are still coming in.

Sheriff Jody Dotson stated that Digman was born in Walnut Ridge and was a former Walnut Ridge Police Officer, worked for the Springdale Police Department as well as retiring from the Arkansas State Police before accepting the position of Chief Ranger with the Arkansas State Parks. Sheriff Dotson went on to say that Jerry Digman ran for Sheriff in Lawrence County in the 1970’s. Digman was a Walnut Ridge High School graduate and attended Arkansas State University.

Jerry Digman is survived by a wife, 2 sons and a grandson. We will update this story as details become available.

UPDATE….Shortly before 11 pm, Pulaski County Officials released a statement stating that 55 year old Pamela Digman, wife of Jerry Digman has been arrested and charged with First Degree Murder. Officials stated she is being held without bond in the shooting death of her husband Arkansas State Parks Chief Ranger Jerry Digman. Pamela Digman is currently being held in the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility.
